English Writing Helper Privacy Policy

English Writing Helper helps users translate and polish text into English. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how it is used.

Data handled by the extension

• Text you choose to translate: when you request a translation, the selected or typed text is sent to the selected AI provider. In Credits mode, it is sent through the English Writing Helper backend so the translation can be completed and credits can be deducted.
• Settings and credentials: your provider choice, model, writing style, custom prompt, language, Credits account code, and any API key you enter are stored in Chrome extension storage on your browser. API keys are used only to call the AI provider you selected.
• Optional anonymous usage statistics: if you opt in, the extension sends aggregate usage information such as translation attempts, character counts, provider, model, writing style, extension version, language, and success or failure status. It does not include source text, translated text, page URLs, browsing history, or API keys.
• Credits purchase and balance records: in Credits mode, the backend stores purchase records, credit balances, credit usage, package type, referral or invite codes when used, and test-mode flags. Payment card details are handled by Lemon Squeezy and are not stored by English Writing Helper.
• Feedback: if you submit feedback, the backend stores your message, feedback type, scenario, language, provider, extension version, and optional email address if you provide one.

What is not collected

The extension does not automatically collect browsing history, page URLs, full page content, payment card numbers, health information, location, or creditworthiness information. Source text and translated text are not stored in the owner usage dashboard.

How data is used

Data is used only to provide English translation and writing assistance, manage prepaid Credits, show credit balances and activity, process support or refund requests, prevent billing mistakes, improve reliability, and understand aggregate usage when the user opts in.

Third-party processors

Depending on your selected mode and provider, data may be processed by Google Gemini, OpenAI, Lemon Squeezy, Cloudflare Workers, and Cloudflare D1. These services are used only to provide translation, payment, hosting, storage, and support functionality.

Data sharing

English Writing Helper does not sell user data. Data is not transferred to third parties for advertising, unrelated purposes, or creditworthiness/lending decisions.

Retention and deletion

Settings stored in Chrome extension storage remain on your browser until you change them or uninstall the extension. Backend usage, Credits, purchase, and feedback records are retained only as needed for service operation, accounting, fraud prevention, support, refunds, and product reliability. To request deletion or help with a Credits account, contact support with your Credits account code.
